If you are new to this podcast, please let me take a moment to explain “Twin Petes Investing” is a collaboration between Twitter investing personalities Peter Higgins (conkers)  @conkers3 and the Award Breaking Pete (WheelieDealer) @WheelieDealer. We have several decades of involvement and experience of the stock market, stocks, shares, funds, fundamental analysis, technical analysis and dealing with volatility. We are Full Time Investors who find the day to day rigours of the ever-changing quest to make financial returns from the increasingly volatile markets fascinating. Just for clarity other than when we are presenting Twin Petes Investing LIVE at events as we have been fortunate to do at Mello Events, we are conducting our podcasts from completely different locations, with one of us in Windsor, Berkshire and the other in Leicestershire.

As anyone who has even just a limited amount of experience taking on the Markets will know, everybody has their own unique style and ways of taking on the challenge and although our methods have similarities, it is anticipated that our “Twin Petes Investing” podcasts will bring a range of perspectives and thoughts.

@philjoakley  Very good podcast as usual. The point made on independent research and thinking cannot be made strongly enough. For me, more research does not mean better research. As with most things in life, the quality of what you do is more important than the quantity.

@HTVIOLA  A great edition of Twin Petes Investing. I was particularly impressed by the nuanced take on #research “some people could research a stock for a hundred hours and still draw the wrong conclusions”. As with investing itself, quality overcomes quantity. @wheeliedealer @conkers3 .

 @TheReluctantIn2  Really good pod Petes. Restricting opportunity sets, longitudinal research and trailing SLs all great advice IMHO. You nailed (one of my many) main failings in trying to cover too much. Different set for everyone depending on time available of course but focus is key to having enough conviction to make a difference. I’m guilty of making good returns on negligible position sizes!

@jd123_jd123  Great chat guys, always good to hear your views, you talk about trailing stops but sadly I’ve only found Barclays do these. I’m with @HLInvest who say they have a demand for trailing stops but don’t seem to want to implement. Who do you use for your trailing stops? Cheers

@RidyardMike  I really enjoyed this podcast no.29 on this mornings 10km walk. I’ve actually just bought one of C3’s shares that’s not yet multi bagged. Hi Pete, good to hear you emphasise the need to do research on stocks as much as your able to do prior to investment. If you don’t, you won’t have the necessary conviction to hold, average down or even buy at the bottom. If investing was easy every investor would be v wealthy.

The trick I’ve learned, is to do nothing. #Patience #BackYourResearch The best #research I do now is listening 2 Webinars & ask questions, now we can’t meet 121. Then trawl back through documents. It’s really boring stuff.
