It is with delight that I announce that Conkers3 Ltd with the Small Company have partnered together to hold a Charity Fundraising event in Leicester in aid of the fantastic disabled children services charity Menphys. As many of you will already know I have been raising funds for Menphys via the TwinPetesInvesting podcasts through our TwinPetesChallenge where we encourage our global listeners to make donations to our Twin Petes Challenge JustGiving page if they have enjoyed the podcast and wish to #payitforward by supporting our charitable efforts. As you can see via this  LINK to the TWINPETESCHALLENGE JUST GIVING PAGE. Thanks to our generous global community, we have raised over £7,882 however my ambition is to raise more than £10,000 and ultimately nearer to £15,000. #KINDNESSMATTERS: Together we can all make a BIG difference, therefore please support us by kindly making a donation on the Twin Petes Challenge  https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/twinpeteschallenge Just Giving page and support disabled children in our community.

Raising this amount of money for the charity increases the opportunity for them to purchase a piece of equipment that the Menphys Charity can use in their Menphys Hub for years to come and make a huge positive difference to the lives of many.

Resilience in Business, Sport and Life

Conkers3 Ltd and Small Company Champion present an evening of networking, fantastic food and great speakers in aid of Menphys.

Over the last 18 months our resilience has been pushed to it’s limits with businesses and individuals facing some of the greatest challenges life can through at them.

On September 17th Peter Higgins (Conkers 3 Ltd) and Elric Langton (Small Company Champion) will bring together a group of fantastic speakers from the world of business and sport to talk about how resilience has played a major role in their success.

Elric Langton, Small Company Champion, said… “I am helping Peter Higgins put on this event in Leicester because his passion for paying it forward to others with his TwinPetesInvesting podcasts caught my attention. I have a personal affinity with disability service as I have a family member that has a disability and have experienced first-hand how invaluable the services that charities like Menphys provide. We will be putting on an excellent evening for Investors, Business and Professionals with all monies raised being given to the Menphys Charity ”

Cathal Friel, CEO of Open Orphan PLC, the world leader in testing vaccines and antivirals through human challenge studies and Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma, a clinical stage infectious disease pharmaceutical company will be discussing their ongoing and future business strategies with regards to “Big Pharma Big Spend” and the new opportunities in the infectious diseases space.

The evenings headline speaker, former Rugby star Steve Thompson MBE will be explaining how resilience has played a major role in his life on and off the field from World Cup win with England in 2003 to his early-onset dementia diagnosis.

Peter Higgins, Conkers 3 Ltd, explained why they are holding the event and why they have raised in excess of £7,500 for Menphys already “The reason I am holding this event is to showcase the fantastic work that Menphys do for children and young people with disabilities, their families and carers in our community. Menphys have been providing such amazing support for thousands of individuals over it 51-year history. However, in 2020 in their 50th year in existence that was interrupted severely due to lockdown restrictions. I am raising funds for Menphys with a goal of achieving a target in excess of £10,000 to ensure that the Charity is on a safer financial footing and can safeguard much needed services to the young people with disabilities in our Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland community.

Eileen Richards, ER Recruitment who is an event sponsor commented “On behalf of ER Recruitment and as President of East Midlands Chamber of Commerce we are delighted to be supporting this event. We live and work in a fantastic community, Menphy’s is a wonderful charity that makes such a difference to children with disabilities, and their families.    It’s people like Peter and Elric that truly make a difference raising funds and awareness to keep the charity going.
Really looking forward to an evening with inspirational speakers whilst raising money for Menphy’s.

With beautiful cuisine provided by local restaurateur Shaf Islam at Chutney Ivy this evening is not to be missed. Not only will there be great speakers, amazing networking opportunities and wonderful food but the event will be supporting Menphys, a Leicestershire based charity that supports children and young people with disabilities and their families.

Ian Caldwell, Menphys CEO, went on to say…”We are thrilled to have the support of Peter and Elric and Menphys is looking forward to hosting their fantastic event at our hub. Not only will it give us the opportunity to raise much needed funds to help support our families but it will also allow us to showcase our building and work to business leaders.”
